Utah State Women's Basketball Leads the Nation in Free Throw Percentage

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's basketball jumped to first place in the current NCAA statistics in free throw percentage, shooting 80.4 percent from the free throw line.

The Aggies have hit 413-of-514 free throws this season and their 80.4 percent is also tops in the Western Athletic Conference. USU also has three of the top free throw shooters in the country, led by senior guard Devyn Christensen who shoots a league-leading 91.6 percent. Christensen has missed only nine of the 107 free throws she has attempted this season. Junior guard Jennifer Schlott is second in the WAC, shooting 85.8 percent, while senior guard Jenna Johnson is fifth, shooting 83.1 percent.

Utah State is also eighth in the nation in scoring offense (76.9 ppg) and steals (12.8 ppg). Individually, Christensen is also fifth three-point field per game, making 3.28 treys a game. She is also sixth in free-throw percentage (91.6). Christensen is also among the nation's leaders in scorers, standing 17th with 19.9 points per game. Fellow senior Jenna Johnson is also 17th in the nation in steals per game (3.16 spg).

The Aggies have a week off this week, but return to action for their final two home games of the regular season. Utah State hosts Louisiana Tech on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. USU will then host UT Arlington on Senior Night on Saturday, March 2 at 7 p.m. The Aggies will honor seniors Devyn Christensen, Pualei Furtado, Jenna Johnson and Banna Diop.
