BOISE, Idaho – Utah State's Brie Clark was named the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Freshman of the Year and Floor Specialist of the Year, it was announced Saturday by the league office.
 
Clark, who also garnered first-team all-league honors on floor, is just the third Aggie to garner MRGC Freshman of the Year accolades, joining Autumn DeHarde in 2018 and Sofi Sullivan in 2020. (Sofi Sullivan, 20
 
Four different Aggies earned a total of eight MRGC honors.
 
Joining Clark with a team-leading three citations for Utah State was Rebecca Wells as the junior garnered first-team accolades in the all-around and on vault, and was tabbed second-team all-MRGC on beam.
 
Senior Carley Bayles and junior Sofi Sullivan joined Wells as second-team selections on beam.
 
First-team all-MRGC honorees on each event and in the all-around consist of the top-three ranked gymnasts (including ties) from Week 10 of the regular season in the Road to Nationals rankings. Second-teamers consist of the Nos. four- through six-ranked gymnasts (including ties).
 
Under fifth-year head coach Amy Smith, Utah State captured its first-ever MRGC Championships on Saturday night at ExtraMile Arena. The Aggies finished with a season-high 197.025 – the second-best score in school history.
