SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Utah State's Clay Lambourne placed sixth in his heat and 33rd overall in the first round of the 800-meter run at the USA Track & Field Championships on Thursday at Hornet Stadium.

Lambourne, who just completed his junior season at Utah State, crossed the finish line in 1:54.71.

AJ Boully, who graduated last month from Utah State, is set to compete in the first round of the 400-meter hurdles on Friday at 7:40 p.m. MT.

The USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championships serve as a qualifying meet for the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London in August. The top-three finishers per event will earn a spot on Team USA, should they reach the IAAF qualifying standards.

NBC, NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold will air comprehensive live coverage of the USATF Outdoor Championships.

Four other Aggies in Maia Garren (women's shot put and hammer), Darren Harman (5,000 meters), LeAnn Larkin (1,500 and 3,000 meters) and Bailee Parker (3,000 and 5,000 meters) will all be competing at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships, which also began Thursday at Hornet Stadium. This Utah State quartet recently concluded their freshman campaigns.

The 2017 USATF Junior Track & Field Championships serve as the selection meet for the 2017 Pan American Junior Championships, which will be held July 21-23 in Trujillo, Peru.
