LOGAN, Utah – Utah State senior cross country runner
Dallin Farnsworth was named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 3, it was announced Monday. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.
It is the first time this year and first time in his career that Farnsworth has been named USU's student-athlete of the week. With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.
The native of Pocatello, Idaho, helped Utah State earn its first-ever Mountain West men's cross country championship this past weekend as the Aggies hosted the championships. Farnsworth set a MW Championships record, finishing the 8-kilometer run with a time of 23:14.2, becoming the first Aggie to ever place first at the MW Championships. USU finished with 42 points – 32 points ahead of runner-up Colorado State.
Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams have a week off before competing at the Mountain Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 15, held at Sunnyside Park in Salt Lake City. The women's 6k race will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10k at noon. The 2019 NCAA Championships will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY – Junior
Katie Struthers-Haviland (Lehi, Utah) placed 18th at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships with a time of 21:00.4 to help Utah State to a fifth-place team finish.
FOOTBALL – Junior wide receiver Jordan Nathan (Monrovia, Calif.) posted his first-career 100-yard receiving game in Utah State's 42-14 home loss to BYU last weekend. Against the Cougars, Nathan caught a career-high seven passes for a career-best 133 yards.
SOCCER – Freshman keeper Diera Walton (Draper, Utah) recorded her sixth clean sheet of the year, matching the most by a freshman keeper since the 2013 season, as Utah State posted a 1-0 home win against league-leading Boise State in the 2019 season finale. Walton logged a career-high 11 saves during the match, the second-most by a goalkeeper in the Mountain West this season.
VOLLEYBALL – Sophomore middle blocker Corinne Larsen (Sandy, Utah) was the top performer for Utah State this past weekend as the Aggies posted an 0-2 Mountain West road record with 3-0 losses at Nevada and at San José State. Against the Wolf Pack, Larsen led the team hitting .300 (5-2-10) and tallied five blocks. Against the Spartans, she hit .200 (3-1-10) and added two blocks.
