LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's cross country teams were ranked in the week 2 edition of the NCAA DI Cross Country Regional Rankings, which were released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Aggie women rose from seventh to sixth in the weekly poll, while the men's team held steady at seventh. The USU women's team continued its remarkable run of having featured in every regional ranking since 2012, while the men have been ranked in every regional poll since 2016.

New Mexico held onto the top spot in the men's Mountain Region as Colorado leapfrogged BYU for second and Northern Arizona and Air Force remained in fourth and fifth, respectively. In the women's rankings, BYU, New Mexico, Northern Arizona retained the top-three places while Colorado and Utah swapped the fourth and fifth spots at the top of the region.

The women's team enters the final month of the 2025 regular season with two top-three team finishes. Individually, juniors Natalie Swain and Shelby Jensen have each earned Mountain West Women's Athlete of the Week honors following their respective top-three finishes. The Aggie men claimed the team title at the Beehive Invitational on September 12 with 28 points, led by sophomore Joshua McKee's first-place finish in the 7K race.

Utah State returns to action on Friday, Oct. 3, when the Aggies travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run. The men's 8K race will begin at 9 a.m., while the women's 6K race will commence at 9:45 a.m. (MT).
