USAFA, Colorado – Utah State's golf team shot a 2-under 286 on Sunday and is in sixth place at 3-under 573 (287-286) heading into the final 18 holes of the 56th annual Air Force-hosted Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational held here at the Eisenhower Golf Club – Blue Course.
 
Gonzaga leads the 23-team field after 36 holes with an 11-under 565 (285-280). Utah Valley's Paxton Maxwell is in first place individually at 9-under 135 (68-67) and has a two-shot lead on the field.
 
Utah State senior Luis Cantu had another solid round on Sunday with a 1-under 71 as he heads into Monday's final 18 holes tied for ninth at 3-under 141. Cantu posted a 2-under 70 during his opening round on Saturday. For Cantu, he now has 10 rounds under par in his career.
 
Sophomore Chase Goetschel moved up the leaderboard and is tied for 19th at 2-under 142 after firing a 4-under 68 on Sunday. Goetschel carded a 2-over 74 on Saturday and was tied for 53rd after 18 holes.
 
Sophomore Noah Moody is tied for 36th at 1-over 145 as he followed up his 1-under 71 on Saturday with a 2-over 74 on Sunday. Sophomore Toby Heider is tied for 43rd at 2-over 146 (73-73) and freshman Zach Skinner is tied for 76th at 5-over 149 (73-76).
 
The final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational is on Monday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. Live scoring will be available at scoreboard.clippd.com.
