Darren Harman, a former distance runner at Utah State, completed his second year as operations assistant for Utah State’s track & field and cross country programs.
In his role, Harman is responsible for the program's photography, videography, content creation and social media marketing, as well as assisting with travel coordination and event operations.
As a student-athlete from 2017-2023, Harman garnered second-team All-MW honors in cross country in 2022 and was named Academic All-MW five times and a MW Scholar-Athlete eight times. Harman appeared at three NCAA Cross Country Championships during his career, including Utah State’s first-ever appearance in 2017. At the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships, Harman placed 161st with a time of 32:20.5. Harman’s personal bests as an Aggie included 14:09.77 in the 5,000 meters, 30:39.89 in the 10,000 meters and 4:00.73 in the 1,500 meters.
Harman was a 12-time letterwinner in cross country and track & field at South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Harman earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in French from Utah State in 2022. He went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from USU in 2023.
Harman served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Lyon, France from 2018-2020. Harman married his wife, Julia Lyons, in 2024.
