Cal Poly is 17-23 on the season and 3-9 in Big West Conference action. The Mustangs are hitting .245 as a team and are led by Gemma Dalena who owns a team-best .309 batting average. Terra Blankenbecler is Cal Poly's top pitcher with a even 9-9 record and an ERA of 1.64. Blankenbecler has also recorded six shutouts this season. Utah State leads the all-time series with Cal Poly 10-8 after going 2-1 in the three-game conference series last season.
Over the weekend Utah State broke a ten game losing streak when it defeated Sacramento State 9-8 in the second-game of a double-header Friday. On the weekend USU went 1-2 against the Hornets moving its record to 6-31 overall and 2-10 in the Big West.
