CEDAR CITY, Utah - Utah State leads Southern Utah 5-1 after the first day of a Ryder Cup style duel here Saturday. The Aggies won two of the three four-ball matches in the morning to take a 2-1 lead and then captured all three alternate shot matches in the afternoon to post a 5-1 advantage.

The two-day event will be completed on Sunday with six singles matches. This is the third year of this event and Southern Utah captured wins in each of the last two meetings.

Justin Copier and Brandon Broadhead were each on winning teams in both the morning and afternoon.
