UTAH STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Post-Game Quotes
vs. New Mexico - Feb. 9, 2016
Utah State Head Coach Tim Duryea: "It's a lot more fun when you win. I am really proud of our guys, they played 40 strong minutes tonight. I had to call a quick timeout in the second half because I saw some issues that we have had before. Give
Darius Perkins a lot of credit, he led that huddle, and let our guys know that those issues were not going to happen tonight. There was a lot of good leadership from our players. The minutes were different, the roles were different, but nobody fought the changes and we played together really well. In all, we made some winning plays when we had to."
New Mexico Associate Head Coach Chris Harriman: "Obviously it was a big disappointment. I felt like we got outcompeted tonight, they played harder than us. We made a lot of mental mistakes, and we were bothered by early foul trouble. No disrespect to Utah State, their a well-coached team, but we didn't give our best effort tonight. I am frustrated and I know our team is frustrated, but we have to figure it out and bounce back for the next game."
Redshirt Freshman Forward Quinn Taylor: "Tonight I think everyone on the team's been yearning for that one win. We've been in a slump and everyone really came out ready to play. We went big to start and we knew we needed to pound the boards and we were able to get a lot of offensive boards, and get second chance points. That also helps us on the defensive side. We were bigger. And I feel like everyone in the locker room, really everyone, went out there and gave it their all tonight."
Senior Guard Chris Smith: "It's about time. About time we got a win. Finally get on track to start up a winning streak. We all played well. We all played our hearts out. On defense, rebounding, we had plus-two on the rebounds, and hit our free throws."
