LOGAN, Utah – Utah State Athletics has announced the addition of Brant Mecham as an assistant athletic director of development. He officially started on Monday, March 30.
Mecham joins USU after spending the past two-plus years at Weber State, where he served as the Wildcats' assistant marketing director from October of 2018. He started with WSU Athletics in the summer of 2017 as a marketing assistant.
While at Weber State, Mecham planned marketing and promotions for all ticketed events (men's and women's basketball, football, softball, volleyball and women's soccer). He also increased ticket revenue for football by nine percent in 2019.
Furthermore, Mecham created promotional for all social media platforms at Weber State, leading to an increase following of 21 percent in 2019 and a 40 percent over the last two years.
In his role with the Aggies, Mecham will oversee the implementation of the annual giving program for Aggies Unlimited, the fundraising arm of USU Athletics. He will implement strategies, programs and best practices to increase philanthropic revenues to support and enhance the student-athlete experience.
The native of Brigham City, Utah, will also oversee Aggies Unlimited solicitations, renewals, stewardship and communications as well as sport-specific fundraising campaigns.
Furthermore, Mecham will oversee special events for athletics development, including auctions and golf tournaments. He will manage the allocation of premium parking for football and men's basketball, and work closely with the USU ticket office on priority seating.
Mecham graduated from Weber State with a bachelor's degree in health promotion and human performance. He is also a 2011 graduate of Box Elder High School in Brigham City.
In his free time, Mecham enjoys spending time family and friends, being outside, golfing and watching the Boston Red Sox.
