BOGOTA, Colombia – Utah State's
Esteban Jaramillo shot a 6-over 77 during the second round of the Astara Golf Championship presented by Mastercard on Friday morning at the Country Club of Bogota.
This is the Korn Ferry Tour's fourth and final event outside of the United States. The multi-course facility elevates from sea level to almost 9,000 feet at the multi-course facility.
Playing on the more difficult of the two courses on Friday, the 7,237-yard, par-71 Lagos, Jaramillo made six bogeys after shooting an even-par 70 Thursday on the Pacos y Fabios course.
The freshman from Bogota finished with a two-day total of 147, missing the cut, which was at 4-under.
In just his 13th career Korn Ferry Tour start since turning professional in 2018, and less than a year after stepping away from golf to work as a loan officer, Ben Griffin sits alone atop the leaderboard after 36 holes at the Astara Golf Championship.
Griffin carded a 9-under 61 on the Pacos course, taking him to 12-under par for the tournament and putting him one stroke ahead of Ryan McCormick and MJ Daffue. Griffin began the second round tied for 36th, but concluded it with his first lead of any kind on the Korn Ferry Tour.
The Korn Ferry Tour is the developmental tour for the U.S.-based PGA Tour, and features professional golfers who have either not yet reached the PGA Tour, or who have done so but then failed to win enough FedEx Cup points to stay at that level.
