LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnast Brie Clark was named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Feb. 20. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.

With their sponsorship of the Student-Athlete of the Week, America First Credit Union donates funds directly to support student-athlete scholarships.

Clark captured her sixth floor title of the season with a career-high-tying 9.950, which is tied for third all-time in school history, last weekend at Boise State. The Aggies recorded a season-high 49.500 on the event, which is tied for second all-time in school history.

The freshman from Daphne, Alabama, is now tied for sixth in school history with her six single-season floor titles.

The 5-foot-1 all-arounder currently ranks first in the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference and tied for second nationally with a National Qualifying Score of 9.930. This is the first week that rankings are determined by NQS, which is calculated with the six highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The highest of the six scores is dropped, and the remaining five scores are averaged.

No. 14 Utah State (7-5, 3-3 MRGC) returns to the friendly confines of the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum for a dual-meet weekend beginning on Friday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m., when the Aggies host No. 12 BYU (6-3, 5-2 MRGC) and No. 23 Towson (12-3, 5-2 EAGL). USU will then host Towson on Sunday, Feb. 27, at 3 p.m., in a non-conference dual meet.
