LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's men's and women's cross country teams are back in action on Friday, Sept. 30, at the 48th Annual Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
The event is scheduled to begin on Friday at 7:30 a.m. (MT) with the Open Men's 8k race followed by the Open Women's 6k race. A full schedule can be found via the Lehigh athletics website. Live results will be available through Leone Timing.
At the 2021 Paul Short Run, the Aggie men placed fourth, breaking a streak of three-consecutive team titles at the event. On the women's side, the Aggies finished in third place, defeating a top-15 team in the country in the process.
Utah State has opened the 2022 season with a pair of sweeps at the Sagebrush Invitational and the Idaho State Open. In Pocatello, Idaho, the women were paced by four top-10 finishes from sophomores Madison Strasner (third, 22:34.2) and Camilla McKinstry (fourth, 22:43.2), senior Reagan Hoopes (sixth, 23.09.2) and freshman Malia Lowe (ninth, 23:31.6).
The men swept the podium as freshman Logan Garnica won his first-career collegiate race with a time of 18:25. Fellow freshmen Stewart Brown and Lyman Floyd finished second and third, respectively, with times of 18:34.5 and 18:37.1.
