LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head volleyball coach
Rob Neilson announced the hiring of Torre Glasker as an assistant coach on Wednesday.
"We can't wait to bring Torre back home to the state of Utah," Neilson said. "Everyone that has worked with Torre raves about her work ethic, her knowledge of the game, her love for the sport and her ability to connect with student-athletes. She will be a great support as we continue to build our program."
Glasker joins the Aggies after spending the last two seasons as an assistant at San Francisco State, helping the Gators to a 36-16 combined record. She helped SFS lead the CCAA in both assists per set (12.54) and kills per set (13.39) in the 2022 campaign. She helped coach a pair of Gators to first-team all-CCAA honors in 2022 as Kimberly DeBoer was named the Setter of the Year and Tamiya Wilson was the Freshman of the Year. Glasker also helped three players earn all-conference honors in 2021.
Before heading to the Bay Area, the native of South Jordan, Utah, served as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, UC Santa Barbara. Prior to that, she was a graduate manager at Ole Miss for the 2020 season. While in Oxford, she was named one of 40 recipients of the 2020 Diversity Awards by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Glasker has also served as a club coach for Oxford Volleyball Club in Mississippi and Club GSL and Wasatch Beach Volleyball, both in Utah.
Glasker earned her master's in higher education. She graduated with a bachelor's in sociology from UC Santa Barbara and was a member of the Big West all-Academic Team as a senior as she helped guide the Gauchos to a 23-6 mark – the program's best record in 15 years – and the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win. She appeared in 56 matches over two seasons and tallied 317 kills with 605 digs. Glasker was the recipient of the Cho Guts Award, given to the player who consistently gives 100 percent effort and inspires her teammates. She received the team's leadership award as a senior.
Glasker began her collegiate career at Utah. As a libero, she led the Utes to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the Sweet Sixteen her sophomore season.
