Biography

HONORS: Was a three-time all-conference honoree, earning all-WGC honors in 2005 and all-WAC honors in 2006 and 2007.

2006 (JUNIOR)--Competed in every competition in the 2006 season... Her finest performance came against Boise State where she won the bars, beam and floor events while claiming the all-around title... Her season high in the all-around came against Sacramento State with a 39.275, while posting her season-high on the bars with a 9.500... She also claimed all-around titles at CS Fullerton, at Texas Woman's and against Boise State... She won four beam events in meets against Washington/TWC, Sacramento State, Boise State and Southern Utah... She won the vault competition against BYU with a score of 9.800... Competed at the WAC Championships where she won the vault competition with a score of 9.875, while taking second in the vault and all-around... Competed at NCAA Regionals where she placed 14th in the all-around with a score of 38.775... Was named USU Athlete of the Week twice (Jan. 16, Mar. 27), while being named XBOX Live WAC Gymnast of the Week once (Jan. 17)... Received academic All-America honors with a grade-point average of 3.59. 

2005 (SOPHOMORE)-- Parenti was diagnosed with mononucleosis and didn’t compete until the fourth meet of the season against Southern Utah. Against Boise State Parenti competed in the all-around for the first time in 2005 and won it with a 39.150. She had another stellar met against Texas Woman’s as she set three personal bests with three top-20 all time performances for the Aggies. She won the vault (9.900, 5th all-time) and all-around (39.350, 14th all-time) and finished third on floor (9.900, 19th). Against California she won the all-around (39.425, 6th all-time) and vault (9.950, t1st all-time) and finished second on beam with a 9.825. Had a season high 9.825 on bars at BYU and tied a season high 9.850 on beam. Parenti had six top-three finishes the next week. Her efforts helped move the team into 16th place nationally. Parenti was named Utah State’s athlete of the week twice (Feb. 15 and March 22), and the WGC athlete once (Feb. 21). At the WGC Championships she took third on bars (9.800) and the all-around (39.025), earning all-conference recognition in both events. Received WGC academic all-conference honors this season.

2004 (REDSHIRT)-- Jessica received academic all-WGC honors in 2004. She redshirted due to an injury.

2003 (FRESHMAN)-- Scored better than 39.000 in nine consecutive meets, a USU record. Had 17 top three finishes on the season. Career best floor (9.900) came against Ohio State, while best beam score (9.900) came against Central Michigan and Southern Utah. Won the bars title at CS Fullerton with a 9.925 score. Won six event titles in 2003.

CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL-- Competed as a Level 10 gymnast at Charter Oak Gliders for Lisa Muellers and Jay Wells. A three-time nationals competitor (1999-2001), she took second at 2000 nationals in bars, beam and the all-around. Finished second on beam and third in bars at 2001 national competition. Two-time regional bar champion. Class of 2002 valedictorian at Glendora High.

PERSONAL-- Daughter of Richard Cundari and Stephanie Parenti. Is an only child. Enjoys surfing, quilting, playing the piano and dancing. Holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Australia, having immigrated to California in 1990.
