STOCKTON, Calif. - Utah State's women's volleyball team (ranked 25th in the country) lost its second straight conference match, this time to the University of the Pacific tonight in three games by final scores of 11-15, 15-17, 4-15 to fall to 12-5 on the year and 4-2 in the Big West Conference. "We had our chances in the first two games to play with Pacific, with just made too many mistakes at crucial times," commented USU head coach Tom Peterson. "We don't have a lot of time to dwell on these two matches with another tough opponent coming to Logan on Tuesday in Utah, and that will be another great opportunity for us to play with a very good volleyball team."

Utah State hung with Pacific for the first two games of the match, losing game one 11-15 despite only hitting .024 as a team, while UOP hit .323. USU had a great chance to even the match at one game apiece in game two leading 14-10, but dropped a 15-17 decision after the Aggies failed to win the match on four different game point opportunities. The Aggies hit .328 in that second game, while the Tigers hit .313. USU lost its composure in the third and final game and quickly bowed out of the match with a 4-15 loss.
