DENVER, Colo. - - Despite turning a season-high 194.900 score the Utah State gymnastics team was defeated by 21st-ranked Denver (195.900) Saturday night in the Hamilton Gymnasium. Utah State dropped to 3-5 on the season while Denver improved to 6-3 overall.
USU turned in scores of 48.600 on the vault, 48.925 on the bars, 48.900 on the beam, and 48.475 on the floor. The Aggies 48.900 on the balance was not only a season-high but ranks as the sixth best beam score in school history.
Individually, sophomore Nicole Kilpatrick had an outstanding performance scoring a career-best 39.225 in the all-round while setting new career-highs on three of the four events. Kilpatrick's highs included a 9.900 on the beam, and a pair of 9.800's on the bars and floor exercise. Freshman Kira Nulph and sophomore Allison Rosenthal also had career-nights turning in season-highs of 9.875 on the beam and 9.850 on the floor, respectively.
Utah State will be back in action Sat., Feb. 17 when it host Missouri in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 7 p.m.
