Box Score

CEDAR CITY, Utah - Southern Utah recorded a season-high 195.300 to outscore the Utah State gymnastics team (194.300) Monday night in the Centrum. The loss drops the Aggies to 6-9 on the year while the Thunderbirds improve to 4-7 on the season.

USU turned in a season-high 49.100 on the balance beam to mark the highest event score for the Aggies on the night. Kristen Bloom tied with SUU's Suzi Clark for first-place on the event, as each scored a 9.900. Bloom's 9.900 was a new career-high and ties as the sixth best beam score in school history. Sophomore Tina Ellis and freshman Mika Houston also turned in solid sets recording a pair of 9.875's to take third on the event.

Other Aggie highlights included freshman Kyla Mattioli winning the first vault title of her collegiate career with her 9.750 mark. Senior Megan Woolstenhulme and sophomore Kristen Fargo finished second on the event with scores of 9.725. Freshman Brittnee Penman finished second on the bars with a team-high 9.875. On the floor sophomore Allison Rosenthal continued her success pacing the Aggies with her 9.850 performance.

Utah State returns to action Fri., March 12 when it takes on (#18) Brigham Young at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center.
