In it's first match in nearly three weeks the Utah State women's tennis team was shutout by Utah 7-0 in Salt Lake City Thursday. The loss is USU's second in a row and drops the team to 2-4 on the season, while the Utes improve to 3-7.

Utah State's doubles team of Sarah Lowe and Amy Thatcher were the only Aggies to come away with a win as the duo defeated Utah's Heidi Thomas and Frida Kareld 9-7. The win brings Lowe and Thatcher to 2-2 on the year.

In singles action Utah won all six of the days matches. USU's Sarah Lowe and Richelle Ferguson each pushed their opponents to three sets but could pull out victories. Lowe fell to the UU's Cassie Kasteler 6-0, 6-7, 6-2, and Ferguson dropped her match to Sheri Ersock 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.

The Aggies men's and women's tennis teams will return to action next week when they travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to play in a three-day tournament with Hawaii-Pacific, Montana State, and BYU-Hawaii Mon.-Wed., March 14-16.
