Utah State's athletic program ranks third in the Big West Conference Commissioner's Cup standings after the fall season. The Aggies' best performance in the fall was the men's cross country team's league championship.
UC Santa Barbara leads the race with an average of 172.0 points per championship sport. Cal Poly is second at 132.0, with Utah State third at 117.5, UC Irvine fourth at 112.0 and Idaho rounding out the top five with an average of 107.5 points per sport.
In addition to winning the men's cross country title, Utah State's women's cross country team finished fourth, the women's volleyball team tied for sixth, and the women's soccer team placed ninth.
UCSB gained the early lead with conference titles in men's soccer and women's volleyball. The Gauchos also finished second in women's soccer and women's cross country and took third in men's cross country.
Cal Poly won the women's soccer championship and finished second in men's cross country.
UC Santa Barbara won last year's competition with an average of 126.3 points per its 16 championships competed in. The Aggies were fourth with an average of 111.8 in 11 events.
The league's winter sports include men's swimming, women's swimming, men's basketball and women's basketball. USU fields only a men's basketball team.
