Women's Tennis Defeated By Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - In its first Big West Conference meet of the spring season, Utah State's women's tennis team fell to the Cal Poly Mustangs 5-2 Saturday. The loss drops the Aggie netters to 4-3 on the season.

Doubles partners Lowe/Pollock, Larsen/Hawkins and Bergeson/Thatcher each lost to their respective opponents as the Mustangs earned the doubles point.

Senior Sarah Lowe defeated Cal Poly's Stephanie Westrich in three sets, while freshman Carolyn Larsen claimed victory over Sandra Tabata in just two sets. Larsen now owns the team's best record as she has posted six wins and only one loss this spring.

The women will face Northern Arizona University at Cal Poly on Sunday.
