LOGAN, Utah - Five members of the USU track team will compete at Indoor Qualifier Track and Field Meets Friday and Saturday. The meets, which take place around the country, provide a final opportunity for athletes to post or improve qualifying marks for next weekend's NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

Shae Bair and Maurice Jenkins will travel to Pocatello, Idaho, to compete in the pole vault. Bair posted a new school pole vault record with a mark of 12-9.5 last weekend and Jenkins posted a third-place all-time record of 17-1.75 last week.

Kristi Connors, Brett Guymon and Justin Wickard will travel to the University of Washington. Connors and Guymon will compete in the 400-meter, and Justin Wickard will compete in the 60-meter hurdles and long jump.

Connors and Guymon both posted personal bests in the 400-meter last weekend with times of 54.03 and 47.08, adding them to the USU all-time list in second and fourth place, respectively. Wickard has tied the USU all-time long jump record with a mark of 24-10 earlier this season and his time of 8.00 in the 60-meter hurdles landed him in second-place all-time.

All five have provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championnships and are looking to improve those marks.
