Final Stats

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's record dropped to 3-4 on the 2002 season as the Aggies lost to Brigham Young, 195.425-191.925, in front of a crowd of 3,112 Wednesday night. Though the Aggies posted their season-best score on beam (48.450) and second-best season score on floor (48.15), they couldn't overcome BYU's 2.425-point lead following the first two rotations. The meet followed the Olympic torch's arrival in Logan and a 90-minute community celebration in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

"I'm just not sure what happened tonight," said head coach Ray Corn. "It was definitely our worst outing of the year. We were energized to be a part of the Olympic torch ceremony prior to the meet, but that should not have been a distraction."

Senior Kirra Seeley posted season-best scores on bars (9.825) and floor (9.65), while freshman Katie Rutherford set a new career best on bars with a 9.825, tying Seeley for the team lead in that event. Senior Jessenia Abrego tied BYU's Kari Dye for first in the floor exercise with a season-best 9.850. Abrego also led USU with a 9.800 on vault. Nicole Kilpatrick posted season-high scores in the bars (9.800) and beam (9.825), while Allison Rosenthal tied her 2002 best score of 9.750 on beam.

The Aggies return to action Friday, Feb. 15 in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, and host No. 1 Utah.
