POCATELLO, Idaho - Five Utah State University track athletes claimed individual titles, while the Aggies' men's 4x400 relay team also posted a victory at the Idaho State Quintuple Dual here on Saturday.

Aggies who won events included Justin Wickard in the 55-meter hurdles, Anthony Stewart in the 200, Maurice Jenkins in the pole vault and Demario Franklin in the high jump on the men's side, while Candice Workman won the shot put on the women's side.

The meet featured a series of five duals and Utah State's men's team posted a 4-1 record with victories against Boise State (75-64), Idaho State (74-69), Utah (84-21) and Weber State (68-67) and a loss to Montana State (72.5-70.5).

The Aggie women were 0-5 falling to Boise State (76.5-62.5), Idaho State (85.5-57.5), Montana State (88-53), Utah (96-44) and Weber State (84-51).

"We had a good day with a lot of people reaching qualifying marks," said Aggie head coach Gregg Gensel.

In addition to winning the 55-meter hurdles, Wickard finished second in the long jump, while Franklin added a third-place finish in the long jump to his high jump victory. Wickard's time of 7.47 was a personal best and Franklin's 6-09 high jump was also his best in that event.

Workman established a personal best en route to winning the women's shot put at 48-09.5. Christi Howell, who finished fifth in the 3,000-meters also had a career best mark with a time of 10:27.75.

Other USU women who had good meets included Katie Farner, who finished second in the high jump and Shae Bair, who placed third in the pole vault.

"It was a good day and we are continuing to improve and that is what we have wanted to do this indoor season," Gensel said. "We are excited to go up to Montana State next week."

The Aggies will compete at the Montana State Invitational on Sat., Feb. 16.
