Final Stats

FULLERTON, Calif. - Utah State gymnasts faced yet another performance of 195.000 or better by a Western Gymnastics Conference member Friday, as Cal State Fullerton defeated the Aggies, 195.000-192.825. USU is now 5-13 on the season as it enters the WGC championship meet in Logan on Friday, March 22.

USU has competed against a WGC member in each of its last four meets, and every WGC opponent has recorded a team score of at least 195.000. Friday, Cal State Fullerton posted two 10.000s, the first two such scores in CSF's 26 years of gymnastics, as Joanna Huges (bars) and Theresa O'Gara (beam) set the pace for the Titans.

Utah State's Jessenia Abrego led the Aggies on vault (9.725) and floor (9.850), and took second in the all-around competition with a 38.850. Junior Allison Rosenthal was the team's top finsiher on beam, scoring a 9.675, but the Titans dominated the event, claiming the first six places with individual scores of 9.725 or better. Freshmen Nalani Chung and Sarah Colson set career bests, as Chung posted a 9.825 on bars and Colson scored a 9.600 on vault. Senior Kirra Seeley improved her bars performance for the third consecutive meet, scoring a season-best 9.875.

USU hosts the Western Gymnastics Conference championship meet on Friday, as Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, Denver and Southern Utah come to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan for a 7 p.m. event.
