Brett Guymon, a senior from Huntington, Utah, was honored by the Big West Conference as Track and Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 26. The Big West released a list of all track and field honorees for the month of March on Wednesday.
Guymon finished first in the 400-meter hurdles at the bBaldy Castillo Invite in Tempe, Ariz., March 23. His time of 50.53 was the fifth fastest in Utah State history. Guymon also finished ninth in the 110-meter hurdles.
April 6, at the University of California Davis, Guymon again finished first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 51.22. He took third place in the 110-meter hurdles (14.68) helping the Aggies to a 170.50-153 win over UC Davis.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Guymon owns the second fastest time in USU history (49.79), a mark he set in 2000. He is third all-time at USU in the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 14.12, also set in 2000.
The Aggie track and field teams next compete at the Weber State Invite in Ogden, Utah on Saturday, April 13.
