LOGAN, Utah - Utah State had nine individual winners, while Brigham Young had two individuals win two events each at the annual Utah Collegiate Track meet here on Wednesday.

The meet was conducted for the seventh straight year, but was not team scored for the first time in meet history. Teams participating included Utah State, Utah, Brigham Young, Weber State and Utah Valley State.

Utah State's Brett Guymon won the 400-meter hurdles for the sixth time in six meets this season. His time of 50.19 was well ahead of runnerup Jeff Tingey of Weber State, who recorded a 51.94. Guymon, who did not run the event in the Mark Faldmo Invitational, won the 110-meter hurdles that day.

Other Aggie men winners included Steve Prescott in the 5,000, Demario Franklin in the long jump, Tim Sparks in the hammer and Neil Warr in the javelin. USU women,s winners were Shae Bair in the pole vault, Sandra Reategui in the 200, Kristi Connors in the 400 and Shae Messersmith in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

BYU boasted the only multiple event winners in Matt Nielson who won the 100 and 200 meters and Dan Arrhenius, who won the discus and the shot put.

Utah State[s next meet will be the Big West Conference Championships at Irvine, Calif. May 15-18. Last season both USU[s men[s and women's teams finished second at the league championships.
