Pocatello, Idaho - Utah State's women's tennis team lost to Idaho State, 5-2 in Pocatello, Idaho, Wednesday afternoon. The Aggies fell to 1-2 on the season, while the Bengals improved to 2-0.
Richelle Ferguson and Jill Smith posted the only victories for the Aggies in singles play. Ferguson won 6-1, 6-3 while Smith won with a 6-2, 6-3 score. The Aggies jumped out early in all three doubles matches, but eventually fell to their Bengal opponents.
The Aggies, who defeated the Bengals last season in Pocatello, have the next two weeks to prepare their next match against in-state rival Weber State. The Aggies will host the Wildcats on Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Sports Academy and Raquet Club in Logan.
