LOGAN, Utah - Nicole Felley, the Level 10 2004 Texas state champion on floor, has signed a national letter of intent to compete at Utah State University it was announced on Tuesday by women's gymnastics head coach Ray Corn.

Felley, a senior at Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas, is the second gymnast from Texas to sign with the Aggies this year. She is a member of Texas Dreams and is coached by Chris Burdette and former Olympian Kim Zmeskal.

"Nicole is a tremendous all-around gymnast who will bring an elite flavor to the Aggies," said assistant USU gymnastics coach Jeff Graba.

In addition to winning the 2004 state title on floor, Felley placed second on beam at the Level 10 Regionals. At the Level 10 Nationals she placed eighth on floor and 10th on vault.

"Nicole just fell in love with the girls and the coaches," Burdette said. "Utah State has the same kind of discipline and drive for excellence that we try to install in our athletes. We have high goals for Nicole at Nationals this year and we expect her to step in as a freshman and contribute."

In addition to gymnastics, Felley is involved in the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and English Honor Society. She is planning on majoring in physical therapy.

"I chose Utah State because I feel like I will fit in there," Feeley said. "The girls are all so great and I cannot wait to be able to say that I am a part of the USU gymnastics program."
