LOGAN, Utah - Former Utah State wide receiver Aaron Jones plays a role in the upcoming movie "The Longest Yard", which will be released nationwide on May 27. Jones is a member of the guards' team and wears jersey number 35.

The movie is a remake of the 1974 classic, which featured Burt Reynolds. The newer version features Adam Sandler, Chris Rock and Reynolds, along with several former NFL players.

Jones was a first-team all-Big West Conference selection as a senior at Utah State in 2000. That year the speedy wideout caught 63 passes for 1,159 yards and 11 touchdowns. For his career, which spanned from 1997-2000, Jones had 145 receptions for 2,334 yards and 21 scores.

Jones finished his four-year career ranked second at USU in career touchdowns, fourth in yards and fifth in receptions. Those numbers now rank third, fifth and sixth respectively on the Aggie charts. His 1,159 yards as a senior presently rank seventh at USU, while his 11 touchdown receptions that year are second only to Tracy Jenkins (14) in school history.

Former NFL players in the movie include Michael Irvin, Bill Romanowski, Brian Bosworth and Terry Crews. The movie is based on a football game between prison inmates and the guards. The film has been rated PG-13.
