LOGAN, Utah- - Utah State's women's tennis team lost 4-3 to Weber State here Thursday. With the loss the Aggies fall to 3-6 this spring.

The Aggies took three of the six singles matches with Lindsey Bennion at the No. 1 spot defeating Elana Smit 6-4, 0-6, 7-5, and senior Jill Smith at the No. 2 spot defeating Alexandara IIie 2-6, 6-4, 7-6.

"Jill had a long battle and both players got very exhausted, but luckily she fought hard and got us another point," said USU head coach Christian Wright.

Courtney Anderson gave the Aggies their third and final point at the No. 3 spot defeating Inalise Pienaar 6-2, 6-3.

Utah State lost all three doubles matches as Bennion and Andrea Barker lost at No. 1 (8-3), Smith and Lauren Monson lost at No. 2 (8-4), and Courtney Anderson and Dee-Dee Nelson lost at No. 3 (8-2).

"We played very strong in our doubles matches but just couldn't get the wins we needed," added Wright.

Utah State's women's team will return to action on Fri., Feb. 22 at home against Mesa State.
