LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's gymnastics team scored its highest score of the season against Southern Utah Monday night, but finished second to the Thunderbirds, 193.775-195.125. With the loss the Aggies are now 5-13 overall, 0-8 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Jessica Parenti was the only Aggie to leave the gym with a first-place finish after scoring a 9.825 on bars. The Aggies as a team recorded a season-high on bars with a 48.675. Alex Martin was the second Aggie as she finished in fourth (9.750), followed by Katie Omann and Meagan Tschida who finished in a tie for fifth (9.725).

The Aggies started the night on vault with three in the top six. Meagan Lewis and Parenti tied for third (9.750), and Rachael Mandy finished tied for sixth after scoring a 9.700, her highest score since Jan. 27.

On beam, Utah State recorded its second-highest score of the year with a 48.675. Parenti led again, finishing third with a 9.800 while Brittany Price, Martin and Tschida all tied for fifth after scoring a 9.725.

On floor Meagan Lewis led the way for Utah State with a 9.775 and a tie for third place, followed by Parenti with a 9.725 and a seventh place finish. The Aggies ended on floor with a 47.975.

Parenti was the top finisher for the Aggies in the all-around with a second-place finish and a 39.100.

Utah State will compete in its second meet of the week, and its last meet of the regular season on Saturday, March 18 at 21st-ranked Minnesota. The meet is set to begin at 6 p.m. MST.
