LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's gymnastics team (5-11, 0-6) enters the week of March 6 ranked 32nd in the nation with a Regional Qualifying Score of 192.805 it was announced Monday.
In team event rankings, the Aggies are ranked 30th on bars (48.405), 32nd on beam (48.025), tied for 36th on vault (48.425), and 39th on floor (48.290).
In individual rankings, senior Jessica Parenti is ranked 38th in the all-around with an RQS score of 38.865.
The RQS is determined by taking a team's or individual's top six scores, at least three of which must be away scores. The top score is dropped and the remaining five scores are averaged.
Following the Western Athletic Conference Championships, the top-18 teams in the nation by RQS make it to regionals. The final 18 spots will come as three teams from each of the six regions who are not in the top-18 will make the field.
In regional rankings the Aggies are currently ranked seventh in the North Central Region. Iowa State (No. 4) and Utah (No. 6) are ranked in the top-18 and Denver (No. 19) and Minnesota (No. 21) aren't far out.
In the WAC the Aggies are currently the third-ranked team. Other league teams in the listings include 30th-ranked San Jose State, 31st-ranked Southern Utah, 33rd-ranked Sacramento State followed by Boise State and Cal State Fullerton, ranked 37th and 51st respectively.
The Aggies next competition will be this Friday, March 10 against 37th-ranked Boise State at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. The meet is set to begin at 6:35 p.m.
