LOGAN, Utah-- - Utah State's women's tennis team defeated Idaho State 5-2 here in Logan Tuesday afternoon. The win puts the Aggies at a 7-10 spring record. Utah State has a 2-0 record against Idaho State after beating them earlier in the spring season 7-0.

The Aggies started off strong by winning all three doubles matches to give them their first point. Lindsey Bennion and Andrea Barker defeated Idaho State's Denise Cockrell and Lauren Pascoe 8-4 at the No. 1 spot in doubles. As for the No. 2 spot Lauren Monson and Jill Smith defeated Katherine Zigars and Valerie Espinosa 8-4. Courtney Anderson and Dee-Dee Nelson improved their doubles record after defeating Stephanie Roldan and Courtney Bennion 8-3 at the No. 3 doubles.

Utah State won four of its six singles matches with the first win belonging to Jill Smith at the No. 2 spot defeating Lauren Pascoe 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. Courtney Anderson improved her singles record to 14-4 with a win over Idaho State's Armine Sarkavagyan 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. Dee-Dee Nelson took the No. 4 singles defeating Valerie Espinosa 6-2, 6-4 and Lauren Monson took the No. 6 spot defeating Stephanie Roldan 6-1, 6-1.

The Aggies will be in action again on April 13 against Boise State. The match will be held in Boise, Idaho and will begin at 3 p.m.
