LOGAN, Utah - Utah State men's basketball player Jaycee Carroll was one of 51 recipients of the Coca Cola Community All-American award in conjunction with NACDA (National Association of College Directors of Athletics) it was recently announced.
The Coca-Cola Community All-American program is designed to help colleges and universities recognize, celebrate and applaud student-athletes who are making a difference in their communities. Carroll spends countless hours each week reading and speaking with the youth of Cache Valley.
Carroll, a junior from Evanston, Wyo., was nominated for the award by Utah State's coaches and administrators for his participation in community service events, along with his athletic accomplishments. Carroll joins 50 other nominees for the national award, which will be presented during the NACDA's annual awards luncheon in Orlando, Fla., during the month of June.
Carroll, who earned honorable mention Associated Press All-America honors along with being named first-team all-WAC, was one of only two men's basketball players from the Western Athletic Conference to receive this national award.
