LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis fell to Montana, 4-3, Thursday afternoon at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club in Logan. The Aggies fall to 3-9 on the season, while Montana improves to 2-5 overall.
The Grizzlies won all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. USU rallied back in singles matches and picked up three wins but it was enough as Montana also tallied three singles wins to clinch the match.
At No. 1 singles, sophomore Brianna Harris beat Montana's Liz Walker, 6-0, 6-1, while freshman Hailey Swenson won in the No. 2 spot for the Aggies, defeating Mari Castello, 6-4, 6-3. Freshman Marie Livingston tallied the third point for USU, winning, 6-4, 7-5, against Jessica Souza in the No. 6 slot.
USU continues action on Sunday, facing Portland State at 9 a.m. at the Sports Academy and Racuet Club in Logan.
