BOZEMAN, Mont. - Utah State women's tennis suffered a loss to Montana State, 6-1, in Bozeman, Mont., Friday and will continue play tomorrow in Bozeman against the University of Montana. The Aggie women are now 3-11 thus far in the spring season.
In singles play, freshman Monica Abella took the lone Aggie point at the number three spot, defeating MSU's Laura Villegas, 6-4, 7-5. Sophomore Hailey Swenson battled to three sets at the number one spot but fell to the Bobcats' Stephanie Jasper, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
In doubles play, the Aggies took the number one spot with Swenson and senior Bridgette Strickland defeating MSU's Ali Griffin and Andrea De Le Torre, 8-7. USU failed to take the doubles' point, falling at the number two and three spots.
USU continues action in Bozeman tomorrow, Saturday, March 21 at 9 a.m. against the University of Montana.
