LOGAN, Utah - Utah State's women's tennis will host the University of Wyoming on Thursday, March 26 at 1 p.m. All home matches are played at the Logan Sports Academy and Racquet Club and admission is open and free to the public.
USU's most recent play, a loss to Montana, 5-2, in Bozeman, Mont. brought the Aggies to a current record of 3-12 thus far this season. In singles play, sophomore Hailey Swenson defeated the Grizzlies' Liz Walker, 6-7, 7-6, 1-0, at the number one spot. Swenson leads the Aggies in singles action, boasting an impressive team high record of 9-6 this season.
Junior Britney Watts had an impressive day, winning both in singles and doubles play. At the number six singles spot, Watts battled back in three sets to beat UM's Lauren Gibson, 0-6, 6-4, 1-0. Watts and her partner sophomore Taylor Perry took the only doubles win for USU, defeating the Grizzlies' Kayla Moyse and Lauren Gibson, 8-4, at the number three spot.
The Aggies will continue Western Athletic Conference action Saturday, April 4 with a doubleheader in Boise, Idaho. USU will play Hawai'i at 1:30 p.m. and follow with a match against Idaho at 5:30 p.m.
