Utah State Men's Tennis Ready for ITA Regional Tournament

LOGAN, Utah -- In the last tournament of the fall season, the Utah State men's tennis team is headed to Las Vegas to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Regional Tournament, Wednesday-Sunday , Oct. 19-23.

The Aggies will get started in the first round of doubles play Wednesday morning at the Darling Tennis Center.

Nine of the 10 team members will be playing in the opening round of competition, taking on players from 15 universities in the western United States.

The men are coming off a weekend of competition at the Utah Intercollegiates Tournament in Salt Lake City, hosted by Utah. Freshman Marcus Fritz and sophomore Fredrik Peterson made it to the semifinal round of doubles competition before falling to a duo from Utah. Freshman Curran Wearmouth and senior Nate Ballam, won the doubles consolation bracket.

Junior Sven Poslusny will be returning to action in both the singles and doubles rounds this week after having to pull out of the tournament last week. He is going into the tournament as the No. 25-seed.
