LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis will host its second Western Athletic Conference match of the season on Saturday, April 2 at 10 a.m. MT. USU is 8-4 on the season and 0-2 in WAC action while NMSU is 10-13 and 0-1 in WAC play.
Most recently, the Aggies hosted No. 70 Fresno State and fell, 6-1 on Thursday, Mar. 30. It was USU's first match against a ranked opponent. Junior Julie Tukuafu fought hard against Fresno's Mary Abby Hayley in Thursday's action. In the end, Tukuafu gained the hard fought straight-set victory, 6-4, 6-4, earning the lone Aggie point in the match.
It will be the first time since Feb. 4-5 that USU will host back-to-back matches. In Logan in February, the Aggies split the weekend, falling to Boise State, 6-1, on Feb. 4 then defeating Portland State, 6-1, on Feb. 5.
The match will be held at the Sports Academy and Racquet Club and is free to the public.
Following action Saturday, USU will head to Moscow, Idaho where it will compete in an non-conference match against Gonzaga on Friday, April 8 and a WAC match against Idaho on Saturday, April 9.
