Final Stats
PROVO, Utah - Utah State's junior tandem of Kristina Voytsekhovich and Jaclyn West battled in the final doubles match on Friday at the BYU Invitational. Voytsekhovich and West would fall 8-5, against BYU's Aubrey Paul and Desiree Tran. Voytsekhovich and West would not fold early as they traded point for point with the host pair. Pual and Tran would not be denied as they separated themselves late in the match to claim the doubles title.
Finishing as the runner's up, Voytsekhovich and West gave USU on of it's best finishes ever at the BYU Invitational. In the semifinals, Voytsekhovich and West dueled with in-state foe's from Weber State, Brittiny Moore and Michelle Warwick. The Aggies established themselves early in the match and never relinquished a chance to their opponent, as they defeated Moore and Warwick, 8-2, en route to the final showdown with Paul and Tran.
Utah State women's tennis team will now shift it's focus to the upcoming Boise State Invitational on September 30 and will conclude October 2. This will be the final invitational that USU will compete in before heading to the ITA Regionals (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) in Las Vegas, starting October 12, 2011.
