"We are very excited to be having Angela joining our staff," said Gensel. "She brings a vast skill set that will greatly enhance our program both on and off the track. She is a natural leader and is going to bring solid experience to our program."
On being named an assistant coach for Utah State, Rosel said, "I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be a Division I sprint and hurdle coach for the growing men's and women's program at Utah State. This is an incredible opportunity for me as a young coach to be able to assist an already successful program in the Mountain West alongside some unbelievable, talented and knowledgeable coaches in this profession. I feel very fortunate and blessed that Coach Gensel and his staff chose me to assist them in continuing the success they have in this conference."
Before coming to Utah State, Rosel spent the previous two seasons as a full-time volunteer coach in charge of sprints and hurdles for the men's and women's teams at the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining the OU staff, Rosel coached multiple sports, including basketball, football, track and volleyball in Kansas and Texas. Additionally, Rosel worked with world-renowned sports conditioning specialist, Istavan Javorek, assisting the hall of fame strength coach with training and exercise instruction of athletes in multiple sports.
A graduate of the University of Kansas, Rosel earned her bachelor's degree in exercise science and her master's degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas at Pan America. Following her bachelor's degree, she completed an internship performing multiple training tests on athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.
