LOGAN, Utah - Utah State quarterback Kent Myers was tabbed the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Oct. 4, it was announced Monday. The award is voted on by a state-wide media panel.

It is the second time in Myers' career that he has been named USU's student-athlete of the week. The 6-foot, 195-pound sophomore from Rowlett, Texas, was also tabbed the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week.

Myers set a single-game rushing record for a quarterback at Utah State with 191 yards in the Aggies' 33-18 Homecoming victory against Colorado State last Saturday night at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium.

The old mark of 121 rushing yards by a quarterback was held by both Tony Adams and redshirt senior quarterback Chuckie Keeton, who missed his first game since injuring his knee against Washington. Both Adams and Keeton were on hand to witness Myers' record-setting day.

It was Myers' first career 100-yard rushing game and the most rushing yards by an Aggie since Kerwynn Williams gained 235 yards against Toledo in the 2012 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. In addition, Myers' 191 rushing yards are the most by a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) quarterback this year and the 23rd-most in the nation.

Myers, making his first start of the season, carried the ball a career-high 16 times and averaged a stellar 11.9 yards per rush. He recorded four explosive plays on the night as he had runs of 34, 34, 27 and 26 yards, respectively.

Myers' 26-yard touchdown run with 56 seconds left in the second quarter gave Utah State the lead for good at 17-10. One play earlier, he rushed for 34 yards on third-and-4 from the Colorado State 45-yard line.

In the passing department, Myers was 12-of-21 for 137 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions against Colorado State. Prior to his go-ahead touchdown run, Myers threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to senior WR Hunter Sharp that tied the score at 10-all with 11:47 remaining in the second quarter. It was the sixth touchdown pass of his career.

UNLV junior LB Ryan McAleenan and UNLV senior punter Logan Yunker were tabbed the MW Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

The Aggies return to action on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they hit the road for the first time in Mountain West, facing Fresno State at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif. The game kicks off at 8:30 p.m. MT and will be televised on the CBS Sports Network (Comcast Ch. 269/753HD, Dish Network Ch. 158, DirecTV Ch. 221).
