LOGAN, Utah -

Utah State's men's golf team continues its fall schedule next week at the Notre Dame-hosted Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind.

The tournament, which gets underway on Sunday, Oct. 9, will play at a par-70 over the 6,713-yard layout. Teams will play single rounds each day with the final round being on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Sixteen teams are scheduled to compete in this week's tournament, including Ball State, Butler, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Illinois State, IUPUI, Nevada, Notre Dame, San Diego, Santa Clara, Seattle, Utah State, UTEP, William & Mary, Wisconsin and Xavier.

Scheduled to compete for the Aggies are seniors Tanner Jenson (Parker, Colo.) and Eli Rogers (Hamilton, Mont.), junior Braxton Miller (Boise, Idaho), and freshmen Hayden Eckert (Buhl, Idaho) and Chase Lansford (Colleyville, Texas).

In its last competition, Utah State finished sixth out of 10 teams at the Utah-hosted OGIO Invitational with a 21-over 589 (300-289) as Eckert tied for seventh individually with a 2-over 144 (74-70).

At last year's Notre Dame Invitational, Utah State finished fourth in the 12-team field with a 9-over-par 861 (292-284-285). Miller tied for 17th place at 2-over 215 (72-70-73) for his lowest-ever 54-hole score and best-ever collegiate finish, while Rogers (76-70-71) and Jenson (72-72-73) both finished tied for 22nd at 4-over 217.

Through three tournaments this fall, Jenson leads the Aggies with a stroke average of 73.00, while Lansford has a stroke average of 74.00, followed by Rogers (74.25), Eckert (74.80), Miller (75.25) and sophomore Braydon Swapp (77.33). As a team, USU has placed in the top nine in all three tournaments it has competed in this fall, including a season-best sixth-place finish at the Air Force-hosted Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational and the Utah-hosted OGIO Invitational.
