Utah State senior golfer Seokwon Jeon shot a final round 2-under-par 70 to finish tied for seventh place with a 5-under 211 (70-71-70) at the BYU-hosted PING Cougar Classic held here at the Riverside Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

Utah State finished the 10-team tournament in a tie for sixth place with a 2-over 866 (288-291-287), while host BYU won the team championship with a 35-under 829 (274-280-275). Individually, BYU's Austin Christensen took medalist honors with an 11-under 205 (68-69-68) to win the tournament by one stroke.

Jeon began the tournament by shooting a 2-under-par 70 during his first round and then carded a 1-under 71 during his second 18 holes on Monday, before concluding the tournament with his 2-under 70 on Tuesday. For Jeon, it is his fourth top-10 finish of the season and the 12th of his career, as he now has 35 career rounds under par, including 10 this season.

Other Aggies to compete in the tournament include junior Tanner Jenson, who tied for 32nd place at 4-over 220 (73-71-76), sophomore Braxton Miller, who placed 38th at 5-over 221 (74-78-69), junior Eli Rogers, who tied for 39th place at 6-over 222 (75-75-72) and freshman Keifer Higham, who tied for 47th place at 9-over 225 (71-74-80). For Miller, he tied his season-low round with his 3-under 69 during his final 18 holes, giving him 11 rounds under par in his career, including three rounds in the 60s. Jenson, who shot a 1-under 71 during his second round, now has 14 career rounds under par, while Higham tied his collegiate low round with his 1-under 71 during his first 18 holes as he has two career rounds under par.

Utah State returns to action on Friday, April 22, when it travels to Tucson, Ariz., to compete in the 2016 Mountain West Championships, which will be held at the Omni Tucson National Resort. Teams will play 18 holes from Friday-Sunday, April 22-24.
