LOGAN, Utah - Utah State athletics has announced the addition of Brandon Howard as the assistant strength and conditioning coach.

Howard is returning to Utah State, where he was a graduate assistant from 2007-08 while working on a master's degree in health and human movement. Howard went on from Logan and worked as the assistant director of athletic performance at Georgia Southern (2008-12), before his most recent position as the director of sports performance at Southeastern Louisiana from 2012-16.

"I couldn't be more excited to add Brandon Howard to our staff," Dave Scholz, head football strength and conditioning coach, said. "We have a long history working together and he is an exceptional teacher, coach, and motivator. We are extremely fortunate to be able to add a person with his pedigree to our department."

Howard earned an undergraduate degree in exercise psyiology at East Carolina and also worked as a student intern strength and conditioning coach with the Pirates during his time in Greenville, N.C.

Howard will work primarily with the football and gymnastic teams, while also helping out with other duties within the strength and conditioning department.

He is married to the former Lauren Leggett and the couple reside in Smithfield.
