Post-Match Quotes
USU head coach Sean McInerney:
On the match:
"For the first match of the year, we came out and were pretty aggressive and dictated most points. We had ups and downs that we expect to have. But a lot of players found a way to stay consistent on what we've been working on. We got a little bit better today, so that was really cool."
On who stuck out from the match:
"Sasha (Pisareva) and Rhoda (Tanui) came out and they played really well for their first dual match at Utah State. So, they stuck out a little bit. Hannah Jones played really well at four. It was nice to see the two seniors (Maggie O'Meara and Sabrina Demerath) come in at five and six and take care of business like they're supposed to. It was nice. It was a good win today."
USU freshman Sasha Pisareva:
On the match:
"I was really nervous before the matches because it was my first match here at Utah State. But then when I started playing, I found my game and I played really well. I was so confident on the court."
On winning 6-0, 6-0 in her first career singles dual match:
"I loved it. I was thinking that she (Ghita Nassik) is a really good player and I shouldn't be relaxed. So, I was focused on the game, played it and did a really good job."
On the energy of the team:
"The energy of the team was so good. I love them. Everybody supported us, and they gave me a lot of energy."
