• In its season-opening 101-71 victory at Montana State, Utah State eclipsed 100 points for the first time since scoring 105 points against Oakland on March 25, 2012. It was the most points scored in a season opener under a first-year head coach in USU history.

Merrill has been dialed in from the floor in each of the first two games for Utah State, shooting 72.0 percent (18-of-25) from the field, 75.0 percent (6-of-8) from behind the 3-point line and 100.0 percent (9-of-9) at the free throw line.
