June 1, 2018 LOGAN, Utah -
Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hartwell announced Friday the hiring of Logan Ogden as the Director of Olympic Sport Strength and Conditioning for Aggie Athletics. Ogden replaces David Land who resigned in May.
"I am very excited to join the Aggie family," said Ogden. "To be part of this great athletic tradition is an honor. My family and I are looking forward to living in Logan and I am thrilled to start working with our student-athletes."
Ogden comes to Utah State after spending the past three years at the University of Omaha, where he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for his first two seasons before being elevated to Director of Strength & Conditioning in January 2017. In his previous position, he directed all aspects of training for the Maverick men's and women's basketball, track & field and cross country programs.
Prior to working at Omaha, Ogden spent two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coordinator at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., working with the softball, volleyball, soccer and track & field teams, and assisting with football. Prior to that, he was a graduate assistant at South Dakota State from 2011-2013, where he was responsible for the track & field, cross country, equestrian and cheerleading squads and helped with duties for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball and football.
Ogden holds certifications through the CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), USA Weightlifting (Sport Performance Coach Level 1), the Gray Institute (3D Maps) and is RPR-2 certified.
A two-sport student-athlete at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, Ogden participated in both track & field and football. He was a seven-time NAIA National Track Meet qualifier and earned NAIA All-America honors in 2011. Ogden was also a six-time GPAC all-conference selection in track and a two-time pick in football. In 2009, he was voted the football program's most valuable player.
A native of What Cheer, Iowa, Ogden graduated with his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Northwestern College in May 2011 and his master's degree in nutrition, exercise and food sciences from South Dakota State in May 2013. He is married to the former Caitlyn Nerem.
